Notes on presence status | B. Victor (pers. comm) indicates that this species is not present on Bonaire. For many years, Acanthemblemaria spinosa was commonly called 'secretary blenny', technically the true common name for A. maria. As a result, the two IDs were widely confused. Review of hundreds of photos from Bonaire show only A. spinosa there, and no true A. maria. |
